We just released a bunch of new Re-use jeans on nudiejeans.com. Again, we asked our colleagues to do some closet excavation and find something special for this drop. And as usual, we struck denim gold.
Another Nudie Jeans Spotify playlist for your listening pleasure. Rome Fortune built his place in the hip-hop history books with a handful of successful independent mixtapes and EPs. A debut album on New Yorks Fool’s Gold label and collaborative tracks with Lil Uzi Vert, Toro y Moi, and Four Tet means that his catalog runs deep. There is always a steady rotation of Rome Fortune soundtracking our office days as well. Recently Rome hinted that a new album is on its way with the release of the single “Lovezone” — we’re hyped for Rome’s return! Please enjoy our latest playlist, Curated by Rome Fortune. Thank you, Rome!
Our latest addition to our Repair Shop family is our second store in Jakarta. The new Nudie Jeans Repair Shop is located in the center of Jakarta’s shopping district, at Plaza Indonesia Mall. Why are we opening more Repair Shops? Our CEO and co-founder Joakim Levin says it best: “We are translating our philosophy into practice. To offer this service, tell our story, and really take our responsibility, we open more stores – if you sell many cars, you also need many workshops” It’s no secret that we’re very proud of the design our very own In-house architect, Ida Toll, created. The store design derives from the very basics, the jeans stack, and much attention has been given to the denim shelves to create the perfect grid. The shelves are made out of Indonesian blockboard and washed-out denim hues and stretch all the way up into the ceiling gridwork. Oversized blonde wood lattice doubles as an upscaled version of a light fixture, popular in Swedish homes during the 1970s. This is very much a – best of two worlds – store design. The balance between robust and exclusive has been toggled throughout the process to meet the Plaza Indonesia standard without losing the Nudie Jeans brand. We don’t make that much of a difference between producing products and producing a new store. Our circular mindset flows through everything we do. For this store, as always, we’ve paid attention to using unprocessed materials where possible, avoiding plastics, laminates, and composites, making sure resources are responsibly harvested. Welcome To Nudie Jeans Plaza Indonesia, or find a Repair Shop closer to you.
Today Kaine navigates his way through Google search results for this truly relevant question. But do we find the answer to the blue denim question for you?
VIENNA, 25 February 2021 – Second-quality jeans are those that don’t quite meet the quality standards – the wash may be too dark, the stitching may not be quite right or the cut may be irregular. Usually, they are sold for discount prices or just thrown away. But Nudie Jeans, a global leader in sustainable fashion, is looking at ways to make use of second quality jeans to maintain the highest quality of its products while reducing the environmental impact of the production process. Eliina Brinkberg, the Swedish company’s environmental manager, explains, “At Nudie Jeans, we are constantly exploring new ways that can improve our environmental footprint. Using post-industrial waste as recycled input to new denim fabric is one of the multiple methods we need to work with to decrease the resource use in the production of our products.” Brinkberg adds, “Sustainability is no longer a trend. It is a profound change for a better future.”
In 2015 Louise started Denim & Brands together with Kristofer, a given companion considering they had been working together for years. Kristofer actually started selling jeans before he even turned 15. After Louise and Kristofer hung up the “Denim & Brands”-sign in downtown Stenungsund, the locals never have to leave their idyllic seaside hometown for any fashion- or denim needs. Denim & Brands is located at Sandbergs Plats 8, 444 30 Stenungsund, Sweden, or at denimandbrands.se ABOUT LOCAL HEROES We work with some of the best independent retailers across the globe. They are an amazing assortment with a wide range of concepts and characteristics. Some have been around for a long time, and others are the next generation. The one thing they all have in common is Nudie Jeans. In one way or another, they have all helped build this brand, so we wanted to highlight them, and there is no better time than now.
The newest member to the family of fits is now available in-store and online. Tuff Tony is a loose straight fit with a high-waist and button fly. It is designed to sit at, or just above, the hip. Tuff Tony provides room over the seat down the entire leg. A slight taper from the knee down gives this fit a straight silhouette that doesn’t flare, making it bold yet refined.
Allow Anna from our Customer Care team to break down some of the reasons why you might be investing in a new pair of selvage denim in the not-too-distant future.

No one is an island — therefore, we like to team up with many different organizations to increase our sustainability efforts. The organizations we have chosen to partner with have their specific aims aligned with Nudie Jeans’ sustainability work. Our daily operations’ most crucial networks are our memberships with STICA, RISE, Fair Wear Foundation, and Textile Exchange. But we also have topic-specific organizations such as Chetna Coalition for the organic cotton we source in India, Amnesty for the work on Human Rights, and most lately, the Supply Network Intelligence Program – Sag Salim for the cotton farmers in Turkey. Sag Salim is a unique project that Outland Denim (Australia) has started together with the Precision Solutions Group (PSG) and denim supplier Bossa — and we are among the first brands to join! It is a grievance program that allows cotton farmers and cotton pickers in the Izmir-Aegean region in Turkey to hand in complaints (basically all cotton we buy from Bossa, Isko, and Orta comes from this region). All complaints are handled by the PSG, which collaborates with local organizations. This system creates visibility in a part of the supply chain that we have not had before. We can get insights as to whether there is any risk of non-compliance on the cotton fields, for example, if the farmers have received the correct payment or not. A project like this, where all stakeholders can work out the best solution for remediation, is a practical step of implementing the policy we have on Human rights and anti-slavery. We are very excited about this and hope that this will further strengthen our sustainability work and impact Turkish laws and regulations.
