This denim shirt is made from a truly amazing 15 oz. selvage denim that has been meticulously crafted at Shinya Mill in Japan on old school shuttle looms. Shinya has with this denim aimed for, and indeed succeeded in, recreating a selvage denim with a vintage deadstock look. It is the symbiosis of slightly irregular warp and weft yarns, their thickness and the open and coarse surface structure that results in the vintage deadstock look. Which is as beautiful in its dry state as it becomes with wear and washing. The way that the denim ages is, however, the true testament to its tasteful greatness - the yarns slub, thickness and the twill structure balances each other, showing twill lines, slight slub and has enough of an open construction to let the white weft yarns pop through. It is simply great, and becomes utterly beautiful with wear and washing. Weighing in at 15 oz. this shirt is also the heaviest Nudie Jeans shirt to date and we are excited to present our new fit Jonas using this particular selvage denim. The shirt itself is made with felled twin needle seams at body and arms. Front and back yokes have pointy shapes drawing inspiration from classic western shirts. All of these construction details will become more pronounced with wear and generate beautiful contrasts at seams and folds. Selvage details can be found at cuffs, pockets, hang band and at the front placket. If you are familiar with our shirt fit Jonis, then Jonas is best explained as its twin - looking very similar but with slightly different characteristics. Compared to Jonis, Jonas has more room for movement as well as new shoulder and armhole construction. Making Jonas more comfortable while still being slim. An improved Nudie classic piece with tons of break-in potential! As with all our dry denim we recommend at least 6 months of daily wear before the first wash to achieve contrasting fades. This is of course just a recommendation.
